Pole kapuściane
wiejące fioletem
gdy przed tobą stanę
Jak stawałam przedtem,
nie będę tęskniła do raju,
ani do zamorskich krajów,
ani do sławy,
o, pole łaskawe,
o, pole dorodne
oczy me głodne
ciebie jak nigdy przedtem.
Będą się twoim syciły fioletem.
Oh, Cabbage Field
blowing with violet colour
when I will stand in front of you
like I did before
I will not long for paradise anymore,
nor for far-away journeys,
nor to be famous,
Oh, my Dear Field
Oh, my robust Field
My eyes are hungry
of you like never before.
They will satiate their hunger with your violet colour.

Wodo , śpiewaczko , wodo samograjko,
zarosłaś rzęsą , niezapominajką,
skąpana w trawie , śród torfów zapadła,
bulgocesz na dnie w swą fletnię ,- zajadła .
Świergoczesz szybko , niejasno lecz zwięźle
w mule , pod którym piosenka twa grzęźnie,
pchana przemożną , nieodpartą chętką,
by coś oznajmić prędko , prędko , prędko !
Znowu mam suknię i włosy dziewczęce:
zbiegam , pod struny twe podkładam ręce …
Na trzcinach lekkich chwieją się motyle,
twarz potrącając , którą do cię chylę.
pośród gęstwiny co gorącem bucha,
O moja siostrzyczko,
słucham , słucham , słucham …
O water-singer, water making music out of yourself,
Overgrown with duckweed,
and with the forget-me-not,
bathed in the grass,
you are bubbling on the bottom,
on your pan pipes, unrelenting,
and twittering quickly, vaguely but concisely,
in the sludge where your song is bogged down,
pushed with the overwhelming, irresistible fancy,
to proclaim something as soon as possible !
Again, I have a girl's dress and hair
I'm running beneath your strings,
and touch them,
light butterflies are wavering on the reeds,
nudging my face while I'm bending over you.
Amidst of thicket flaring with heat,
oh my beloved sister,
I'm listening, I'm listening, I'm listening.

Szmaragdowy półcień
ze spadzistą lożą w środku
Huragan mruczy
obejmuje ciszę
kołysze sen w sen
raz za razem
oddech burzy
beżowy
syczy jaskrawym spojrzeniem
i przylgnął do brzucha
jak mokra tkanina
rozpływa się
w czarno-czerwonej
przestrzeni lasu
Emeral shade
with slopping lodge in the middle
hurricane purrs
hugs silence
rocks dream in a dream
again and again
storm's beige breath
hisses with bright eyes
and clungs to her stomach
like a wet cloth
melts
in black and red
forest space

A, A, A ! - Kotki dwa !
Nad łąkami szara mgła,
a na niebie język chrapie.
Nocka lśni jak czarny papier.
Y, Y, Y ! - Kotki trzy !
Dwa wariują jden śpi
Przyszła północ w ciemnej bluzce,
sny układa na poduszce.
O,O,O ! - kotków sto !
Chyba mi się śni już to !
Idą, idą kot za kotem,
resztę wam opowiem potem.
A, A, A ! - zwei Kätzchen !
Hinter den Wolken - grauer Nebel,
und am Himmel schnarcht der Mond.
Die Nacht glänzt wie schwarzes Papier.
Y, Y, Y ! - drei Kätzchen !
Die Zwei - albern herum, das Eine schläft
Die schwarzgekleidete Mitternacht ist gekommen.
Sie legt Träume auf die Kissen.
O,O,O ! - hundert Kätzchen !
Das muss ein Traum sein !
Die Kätzchen laufen, eins nach dem anderen
und den Rest erzähle ich euch später.

Badyle (Stalks)

Głowę nisko, niziutko pochylę,
by podpatrzeć, jak się chwieją badyle;
Puch przelata. Ktoś nieznany sieje
chwasty, zboża, zgony i nadzieje,
pieśni dzikie, śmiałe i żałosne,
a ja coraz szerzej wzrok otwieram,
puch, i pieśni, i nadzieje zbieram
i upadam, i powstaję, i – rosnę!
I will bend my head down low
To see how the weed is wobbling
I will become an ear and an eye
To know what the stones are dreaming about
Leave me alone on the field
One small corn cockle seed
Has more compassion and sympathy
Than you
I prefer the rain, the thunder noise
Than the stuffiness of your cramped houses
Than the air which grieves my soul
And above me the great winds are
Running and whistling
Pappus is flying over
Someone unknown is sowing
Weeds, crops, decease and hopes,
Wild, daring, doleful songs,
And I’m opening my eyes widely
Collecting the pappus, songs and hopes
Falling down, rising and growing

Voice and violin put into ancient, traditional context, looking for its own origins and ancestors in the rural simplicity and rough conventionalism, listening to the screams of old structures...Voice and violin in the direct creation, a link between the past and the future, out of the old frames but still with the blood connection to it, based in the metropolitan jungle... ... more
